The Water-jar seller, the Milkwoman and the Chimney-sweeper all carry a similar type of handbasket, and so does a White woman in the crowd around the victorious Actor-Boy.


I have not found any comments so far on these useful little baskets. Quite what each individual carried in his or her basket (food, purchases, personal necessities?)is not revealed; only the chimney-sweeper shows what he uses his rather battered basket for - carrying a spare broom head.
